About the Position

Join our dynamic team as a music and drama teacher, where you'll be instrumental in nurturing a love for music and movement, fostering creativity, and contributing to students' overall development. You'll introduce students to a diverse range of musical genres, styles, and dance traditions, promoting cultural awareness and appreciation. We expect you to inspire students to express themselves through music and dance, encouraging creativity and originality in their artistic endeavours

Duties

  • Instructing students in musical instruments and dance techniques.

  • Assisting students in comprehending and interpreting music notes, dance notation, and rhythms.

  • Guide students through the process of memorising lines, understanding characters, and following a script

  • Prepare students for performances, including events, private showcases, and dance recitals.

  • Evaluating students' musical and dance performances, offering constructive feedback.

  • Coaching students on vocal dynamics, expressive dance movements, and tempo control.

  • Surveying various musical and dance styles and genres to foster appreciation and comprehension.

  • Cultivating students' musical and artistic abilities through tailored guidance and encouragement.

  • Embedding music and drama principles into interdisciplinary units and projects.

  • Pursuing ongoing professional development to remain informed about contemporary trends and effective methodologies in music and dance education.

  • Incorporate music and drama  into the themes explored within the Units of inquiry.

  • Participating in weekly collaborative meetings to exchange insights and provide supportive feedback, guiding students through their artistic journey.

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in music .

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Proficiency in both Arabic and English languages.

  • Substantial full-time experience as a Music and Drama Teacher.

  • Extensive knowledge of diverse music genres and instruments.

  • Demonstrated passion for music and dance, coupled with high levels of patience.

  • Skill in assessing students’ potential and abilities.

  • Capability to lead a choir effectively.

  • Proficiency in organising extracurricular activities and musical performances.
