About the Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting physical fitness, health, and well-being among students, fostering a positive and active learning environment. The candidate will play a central role in promoting sports activities on campus involving students, teachers, parents, and professionals.

Duties

  • Design and implement a dynamic and age-appropriate PE curriculum aligned with educational standards.

  • Develop lesson plans that cater to various skill levels and promote inclusivity incorporated within the PYP curriculum designed and delivered by grade level teachers. 

  • Provide engaging and effective instruction in various physical activities, sports, and fitness routines.

  • Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that motivates students to actively participate and enjoy physical education.

  • Assess and monitor students' physical abilities, providing feedback to support their individual skill development.

  • Plan and conduct skill-building exercises and drills tailored to the needs of diverse learners.

  • Integrate health education topics into the curriculum, covering areas such as nutrition, wellness, and the benefits of an active lifestyle.

  • Promote healthy habits and educate students on the importance of maintaining physical fitness.

  • Ensure the proper use and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities.

  • Supervise and organize equipment for various activities, ensuring a safe and organized learning environment.

  • Enforce safety rules during physical activities and sports.

  • Be knowledgeable about first aid procedures and respond appropriately to injuries or emergencies.

  • Evaluate and assess students' progress in physical education through regular assessments and feedback based on the PYP system.

  • Maintain accurate records of students' performance and participation.

  • Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and school administrators to communicate students' progress and discuss any concerns.

  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences, PDs, and school events.

  • Stay informed about advancements in physical education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.

  • Attend workshops, conferences, and professional development opportunities. Serve as a key communication link between parents, teachers, and administrative staff, relaying important information and updates, and handle all aspects of incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries, ensuring accuracy and prompt distribution.

Requirements and Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English is a must.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field. A teaching certification is often required.

  • Previous experience as a PE teacher is beneficial.

  • Strong knowledge of physical fitness, sports, and health education.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • CPR and first aid certification are a must.
